theodoraihs 's review for:
Julius Caesar
by William Shakespeare
Julius Caesar is one of the playwright's more inanimate works, consisting chiefly of grand infamous speeches and private duologue, both scribed with exquisite wit; In this manner, he presents perhaps his most morally ambiguous play. No one else could articulate a cast of characters quite so murky and complex.
He recognises his character's flaws and transgressions while also showing that, from their point of view, their actions were perfectly right and sincere. Therein lies both the secret of his art and the moral value of his craft.
