Exceedingly violent and gore filled to the point of nausea, The Troop is like if Lord of the Flies was given an NC-17 rating. There are points within this book that I legitimately struggled to read due to the content, which I can’t say I’ve ever had to do before. The author is incredibly creative in terms of writing structure, actually giving away twists before the climax, but that somehow makes the story more enjoyable. If you need an easy, gore soaked horror, The Troop is the book you need.
