while i appreciate what this book was trying to do, it was a bit too all over the place, and this took away from what was trying to be said about gentrification. like if that aspect was a bigger focus (instead of zuri just randomly hating on darius for simply existing) i think i would’ve liked this better, but since a huge part of this was zuri’s hot and cold attitude and being super judgmental about literally everything and everyone, it fell short for me tbh.
