Vincent's Starry Night and Other Stories: A Children's History of Art by Michael Bird

5.0

We spent a month reading aloud through this history of art. The book is laid out in periods of art, with each featured artist building on the previous one to give a wonderful story arch to the creative process through history. Each artist is spotlighted in a three page story with a single featured piece of their work. The story is usually a snapshot of their life at the moment of creating the art, perhaps with background information, insight into art techniques, and historic and geographic information. We really enjoyed this and highly recommend it.
