The Harbors of the Sun by Martha Wells

Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.
The Books of the Raksura have always been a bit pulpy, but this installment careens between four different scenarios populated by 30-40 characters. There's very little character development that can happen when you're juggling that many plot elements, and Wells has always had a weakness for unnecessary logistical interludes. In short, this book has very little of what I enjoy about the series and leans so heavily into my pet peeves that I am retroactively getting annoyed about the series as a whole. I'm sure it's going somewhere cool, but I am no longer on board for the ride.
