Dark undertones permeate this book and it made me glad I don’t have triggers. The wall, that godawful wall that brought two broken people together and allowed them to fill each others missing pieces while kidnapped. How Everly survived the onslaught of wall neighbours was incredible. That alone would have broken me. Then when she meets Isaac she still had so much empathy and heart left. Everly was so courageous and brave, the bravest of the brave.
My heart felt destroyed in the second quarter. I was beginning to identify with Everly and Isaac and I couldn’t see a way out. The way the authors were able to reach into my chest and extract all the feelings. I loved them whilst cursing them at the same time. I loved Sara and felt every ounce of Isaac’s pain and his need for vengeance.
This is a dark romance. Content warnings should be heeded. There are a lot of things that happen on page so be aware.
