Six Years
by Harlan Coben
I think a more accurate rating of this book would be 3.5 stars. It was a good thriller, and the main reason why I rated it so highly was because for the first 3/4 or so, it kept me on the edge of my seat. I tore through it pretty quickly because I wanted to know what would happen next.
It isn't one of Coben's better written books, unfortunately. Jake's internal dialogue was pretty corny, and his career/the depiction of the college seemed pretty unfeasible. I did figure out the mystery a while before it was actually revealed, and that disappointed me a bit. The premise is pretty interesting, and part of me wishes the author did more with it without relying on so many stereotypes and tired plot points. Still, it was enjoyable in a mindless sort of way! It's a good choice if you're looking for a fun suspense novel.
