The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz

2.0

This is a story written by a woman but told by a man, and there's a couple of different stories within the story about women that are also told by men. This is kind of a fundamental problem that I have with the book, because it's always framed through a different lens. I don't know if the story could work with just women, but I definitely would have preferred it.

The book also hypes up the mysterious plot as being the greatest story ever, which it definitely isn't. I really think this could've worked for the basis, but doesn't hold up at all for a full novel. I just wasn't interested in any of the main characters and nothing invested me until the end.
