This was so bizarre, so unique, that I can't really give it anything but 5 stars because I'll never forget this book. The ending being an intentional anticlimax felt so right, it's like I slipped out of this book with satisfied ease. I actually.... Like the character of Patrick Bateman- he is so pathetic and funny to read. The violence scenes were horrible but I've never read gore that was an actual challenge to read before so it speaks to Ellis' skill in that respect. Everything about this book was perfect, it's a great bit of consumerist dystopia and I recommend it to everyone.
