I had been searching for a long time for another novel to dredge up the emotions that had been drawn out from Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. This novel did just that IF NOT MORE. If you enjoy fantasy, romance, magic, competition, and political intrigue, this is going to be right up your alley. Sadly, there are no dragons, but this book makes up for that in SO many ways.

Oraya, a grumpy human trying to mark her place within the ruling vampire clan and show those who look at her as trash that she is more than they ever knew. How does she do this by entering a competition full of difficulties from other competitors to being trapped with literal monsters, all to be granted a wish from a Goddess. Does she win? Does she die? What is her wish? That is up to you to find out.

The gut-wrenching emotion that this book gave me has me wanting to DEVOUR book 2. I need Carissa Broadbent to hurry up with the other 4 already.
