I’m not sure if the holly jolly spirit is helping my mental state with these reads lately, but this story really touched my heart in a way I didn’t expect.
This story follows Iris as she escapes her emotionally abusive relationship in London to New York, where her late mother spoke of so many cherished memories. After hearing about the neighborhood gelateria owners health scare, she understands that the coveted and highly exclusive Belotti family recipe of their best selling vanilla gelato is the shops only hope of keeping the family business running. Little do the Belotti family know, Iris can be the one to save their shop after all!
Josie Silver’s writing is captivating and had me tearing up at different points because I just felt so deeply for these characters. I was invested in the storyline and how the invisible string brought Iris back to a family that her mother had ties to. The few POV’s we got from Vivien’s past in Nee York was a great addition to the story and allowed me to feel even more rooted in Iris’ path in the story. It was a beautiful journey of healing and growing in love.
I have to give it up for my man Gio & not allowing his woman to be disrespected! The Belotti family exude a big warm hug and I’m just so happy Iris found her people to love and protect her so fiercely.
This is definitely a gem I will have to revisit again🩵
