Chasing the Boogeyman
by Richard Chizmar
fast-paced
Re-read Review
Such an inventive thriller with a true crime twist and an endlessly enjoyable self-insert of a protagonist. Though the character of Richard Chizmar is somewhat distanced from the prowling danger of his town's Boogeyman, the tension and fear is always present. This is specifically due to Chizmar's loving hand as he pays homage to his hometown of Edgewood.
Love this.

Absolutely flew through this thriller. It's such a clever and fantastic ode to Chizmar's hometown and is written so beautifully and with such care. Really loved it.
