can i be honest? this would've probably been a 5 star, but the fact that starbucks and mcdonalds were mentioned multiple times throughout the story was just weird. like did these companies pay for product placement in a book or are we just that ride or die for them?
aside from that, this book really surprised me and i appreciated it for bringing so much more to the story than romance. learning about these characters flaws and traumas gets you rooting for them, and hoping for a better future for them! (emma didn't deserve maddy though, let's be honest.)
also, hand me a found family trope in any story and i am going to actually devour it.
