Sherlock Holmes and Count Dracula by Christian Klaver

adventurous dark medium-paced

3.5

A mashup that nobody knew they needed until now! This is one of Sherlock Holmes stories from Dr Watson’s “classified dossier” and it tells the tale of when Sherlock Holmes paired up with another mighty figure of the Victorian canon.
I have to admit that it took me a little while to get into this novel but once I had accepted the various events which were now unfolding in the Holmes-verse, I was transported to a supernatural world that was still (according to Holmes) ruled and organised by science.
The pace picks up in the final acts and the novel is filled with action, violence and vampires.
Overall a fun (albeit dark) and original adventure for London’s consulting detective.
