I was excited to read this because of the tropes (I mean age gap and forbidden romance? Yes, please!) but I was just left disappointed. The tropes are not executed the way I was expecting it to be and the story is dragging too. The first half is okay but the second half is a bit boring and I think it got to the point that I don't care about the MCs at all. Their relationship is a bit lackluster and there's just so much drama. The constant mention of their age gap gives me the ick too. I think it's around 75% where I struggled to finish this book and just started skimming.

Maddie annoyed me by the second half. I do get where she is coming from but the way she handled their relationship sounds so immature. I mean, she got mad at him for some misunderstanding or her refusal to talk it out:
he was LATE for their date thinking that HE LEFT HER. Then he went and waited for her to answer her door until the morning so he could explain. I don't know why she didn't open the door especially if he kept knocking but whatever. She saw him with his bruised face AND REFUSED TO LISTEN TO WHAT HE WAS SAYING AND LEFT HIM. If anything, SHE LEFT HIM.

Anyway, I would've liked this book better if the execution is good enough and if the main characters are compelling and has chemistry.
