“i have been alive since before the formation of language and thought, and in all that time, i have never seen someone as beautiful as Eurydice Martin. i doubted i ever will again”

this book had me smiling and so happy while reading! this reimagined modern take on the Orpheus & Eurydice myth was amazing and i loved how Thanatos and Charon are heavily involved as well. Thanatos was my favorite character from book 1 and i was so happy to hear he was the MC for book 2 and getting his own HEA. this series has amazing communication between the characters and the emotional growth of everyone had me dying to finish this book and beyond excited to see where this series goes! (The epilogue?! foreshadowing for sure 😬)

[ thank you Savannah for the ARC! this title releases on March 14th as the second installment of the God’s Gambit series and should be read after reading The Promise of Spring ]

tropes:

greek mythology retelling, cozy fantasy, found family, women in STEM, forced proximity, mental health representation, poetry loving God of Death, HEA
