Patricia’s husband is so stupid, I can’t cope.

In fact, all the husbands are stupid. I hate them all.

It takes so long to get to the actual point of the book but i got into it a lot more in the second half.

He didn’t hit an eleven year old boy that hard but the boy lost his hearing in one ear?!

I didn’t enjoy the vivid detail about some of the gore. And it took too long for what it was.

This could easily have worked if they had kept it to white neighbourhoods. Maybe if this was written by a black author the inclusion of race and the subsequent plot lines related to it wouldn’t have me in two minds.

I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it. I think more than anything I was just committed to finishing a book because I have been in a year long reading slump.

When I don’t have much in way of thoughts I just default to a three. Maybe that’s generous? I don’t know.
