Frank Miller's Big Damn Sin City by Frank Miller

5.0

Utterly fantastic. I honestly feel I can't give the praise and appreciation the artwork deserves here, it's above anything I'm used to. The large formformat book helps accentuate the art and with over 1300 pages, provides such captivating full page scenes that you feel you can't
Ossian appreciate them in one go. There are so many pages I wish I could frame they are so good.

The story is familiar to fans of the original work or the movies. The only very narrow criticism I have is the stories all have the same flavor, but strangely it doesn't seem to get old. They all have the perfectly proportioned women who, by sheer looks are the undoing of of a variety of macho unstoppable men. While a single gun shot wound kills a women in one story, male protagonists are shot countless times and they act like they've stubbed there toe, soldiering on.

Story exaggerations aside, this book is act behemoth. it's huge for one and heavy to boot. This is a coffee table book, but be advised there is advised significant amount of "artistic nudity" here and not subtle in presentation.

Overall I'd give this book 6 stars if is could. Entertaining, engaging, a massive spectacle of art and sheer brilliant scope, storytelling and artwork.
