The Maid's Version by Daniel Woodrell
3.0

Book club book...I wouldn't have picked this up on my own. The jacket flap claims this is a mystery involving a fire at a dance club in the 1930s. By the end of the book you know what happened, not through investigation, but through a rumination on the character and characters of a small Missouri town. And while the maid is important to the story, it is not through her alone that the true story is revealed.
