Not my favorite Duran. For some reason, I felt like it moved extremely slow. Perhaps I wasn't drawn in to the plot or connected to the romance. Mina's business felt like a throwaway bit of characterization, and I felt like Phin's mapmaker mentor's family was just a plot device for Mina to get jealous. Normally I enjoy little bits like that, insights into a character's inner life, but they didn't work for me here. If you liked this, you'll LOVE her other books. And if you didn't, give Duke of Shadows (or one of the Rules for the Reckless series, but Duke is a masterpiece imo) a chance before writing Duran off.
