A book deserves a high rating from me when it evokes certain emotions throughout the story. Tanya Smith was bright, but dumb. Book smart, street dumb. Knowing the level of fraud she was committing and the interactions she had with local and federal law enforcement, I expected her to move smarter. Instead, she continued to place her trust in men, who showed her that they were sketchy, liars, cheaters, manipulators from the START. Also, as someone who has gotten burned by someone once, why allow it to happen several times over?

Don't get me wrong-- I celebrated Tanya's efforts to bounce back and especially her escaping jail. But she was boy-crazy, although she tries to downplay her relationships with these guys and it ultimately led to her downfall. I recommend this book just based on the message I hope sends to my fellow sistas... Don't let these men on anything!
