George Orwell is oblivious to happiness (and therefore, so am I).

I’ve been wanting to read this novel for quite some time now, and I can obviously state that I was not disappointed. Of course, the ending is well-known, so I already knew what was going to happen in the end, but i still suffered through the entire book.

I can’t say I liked Winston, but maybe that’s the overall experience. He is SO HUMAN, it’s painful yet relatable to watch (or read, in this case). I admit I was judging him and screaming at the book while reading about his decisions, thoughts, or whatever he had going on with Julia, but I also can say that I would’ve hardly done anything different.

This was great.
