I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. Not gonna lie, the low ratings made me a bit afraid to start reading it but I decided to keep an open mind and form my own opinions of this book.
I loved the lesson taught in this book. I think Katie Cotugno nicely executed the problem with double standards and how double standards can be applied in every situation, even if it is done unconsciously. It kind of reminded me of the classic The Scarlet Letter and I think the author intended for that since Molly did mention a parallel between her situation and Hester Prynne's in one chapter. Since I'm reading The Scarlet Letter right now for school, it makes it all the more exciting.
Although Molly made a few bad decisions that could have been avoided with simple communication between her and the people around her, I believe that she is one of the strongest characters I've read. I love how she stuck up for herself in the end and realized that she deserved to be treated better.
Many people say that the ending was unsatisfying and that there needs to be a second book for this whole story to wrap up. But I honestly loved the semi-unresolved ending and I think a second book, where everything would be resolved, would defeat the purpose of the author's message. The fact that certain matters were unresolved made everything so much more plausible and realistic and I loved that.
Overall this book left me pleasantly surprised. It was a light read with a deeper meaning in between the lines and I enjoyed it.

Spoiler
I really loved how Molly did not end up with ANY of the two brothers because honestly, what both of them did to her was so gross and Molly deserves way better.Overall this book left me pleasantly surprised. It was a light read with a deeper meaning in between the lines and I enjoyed it.
