God this book is so fucked up, but I couldn't put it down. it was written so beautifully and hauntingly and descriptively that I feel like it has its own scent.

I love books where the fairy tale stuff is dark, though I wish the ending was explained more -- who is grey, and what are they, really? though I expect the author left that to my imagination on purpose. I will be thinking about this book for a very long time
