This is the second book in a great spinoff series that really stands on its own. The world build and magic system, while the same as jane yellowrock series has its own depth.
I like the world and character build going on and that at this point it does feel less of spinoff series and more of its own thing. While it has some similar characters from the Jane Yellowrock series they are supporting cast, or cameo appearances here.
