A Fire in the Flesh by Jennifer L. Armentrout
4.0

He'd basically just told me, the one he believed was the love of his life and the person he wanted to start anew with, that he wished I looked like someone else.
Gods, and I thought I was bad when it came to interacting with people.

I think this book shows just how important therapy actually is. Because I don’t know a single person that would benefit as much from it as Kolis would. He desperately needs therapy.

SpoilerA Fire in the Flesh picks up right where A Light in the Flame ended, where the three of them fought. Kolis wins and throws Sera & Nyktos in cages. Nyktos falls into stasis from exhaustion from the fight and Sera convinces Kolis that she is Sotoria reborn. The first 60% of the book Sera&Nyktos spent apart and
in my opinion her inner monologues were kind of repeating themselves over and over. It was a bit boring in the middle and repetitive. Thanks to the changes in scenery and characters it was bearable.

I didn't lose control. I fucking took it.

SpoilerWhen Sera finally freed herself and Nyktos and they got back to the Shadowlands I was so happy that the first part of the book was over I finished it in one sitting. Whereas it took me weeks of starting, reading a chapter and going back to it days later for the first 60%.

What really got me were the two smuttiest smut chapters in the end.
SpoilerThe going full primal mode? The shadow sex? are you kidding me?
