Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare

4.0

Loved the final installation of Spindle Cove, Charolette has been an entertaining background character since the very first book and her love story is fittingly also a Who Done It style mystery, except instead of murder in the library with a candlestick, it is solving the mystery of who had loud, relatively quick sex in the library (while Piers & Charolette listened on in horror from their hiding spot) and left behind a red garter. Having been caught leaving the library alone, they are of course forced to become betrothed. Unlike many nobleman in Regency novels, this cold-hearted Marquess has no opposition to marriage, he is just determined he does not and will not want to ever fall in love. Charolette, having seen both her sisters fall head over heels wants nothing less for herself. This is one of the few times in historical fiction where I love both the hero and the heroine equally, they were adorable and the story kept a brilliantly engaging pace
