The beginning was quite slow - I wasn’t sure if I would finish. But by the middle third, once the relationships were formed and the conflicts/plot developed, I couldn’t put it down. A bit of a ex machina type ending, but thankful it had a happy ending (albeit rushed). I continue to love this author’s way of crafting villains and nefarious plots - it’s always tense and scary and relatable all at once.
