themeggreig 's review for:
Detransition, Baby
by Torrey Peters
As a novel, there are some structural elements I struggle with when it comes to this book. It almost reads like a collection of short stories more than a comprehensive story. The dialogue is a little too academic to be believable and the characters were so caught up in theory and terminology that it felt forced.
But as a critical text, this book is phenomenal. Critical reading for, lie, anyone even remotely interested in being an ally to a queer person, or any queer person looking to know themselves better.
