Trust in Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout

3.0

Okay.... This novella is pretty good. Its really interesting to see the main events of book 1 from the point of view of Cam (the male love interest in the first book).

The plot of the book is that of Wait for Me, which is the story of a young women in college called Avery who moves to a small town to go to college and literally bumps into Cam on the first day of College and then romance ensues.

The good points about this book is that you have a better indication of the side characters such as Jace, who is the main protagonist of the second book. You see Cam''s relationships with the boys and its really endearing. You also get a look into his family and see his close relationship with his sister which is so heartfelt. I think what really brings the romance together is that both characters are likeable and flawed. For example, Cam is arrogant but not, in my opinion, a horrible way as it leads to a more humorous side of the story, despite serious topics being discussed.

What i didn't like about the story was that i found it very rushed. I think the story would have worked better if we had ONE key moment through the point of view of Cam and really explored that. I think that in the case, flashbacks would have worked well too, but that me being picky as it is a novella.

Over all, not a bad book, and i would recommend it before reading the second as it has made me intrigue and sympathies with Jace and Teresa, the main couple in book 2. The series is made up of companion novels. so books can be read in order or on their own.
