Horimiya, Vol. 1 by HERO, Daisuke Hagiwara

4.0

Hori is the popular girl at school but after school she goes home to take care of her little brother while all her friends hang out. One day her brother is hurt and is helped by Miyamura, Hori's classmmate, and brought back to her house. There she realizes she didn't even recognize Miyamura at first with all his piercings and no glasses and hair different...meaning everyone hides who they really are sometimes.

This was pretty cute. Basically a love story slowly coming together. It helps both leads, Hori and Miyamura are enjoyable characters to be around. Hori, a hard worker taking of her brother due to the parents not being around much. Miyamura, a guy who likes to be alone but maybe being with people isn't so bad once he gets to know them. Once these two become friends they begin to learn about each other, and love begins!

Great art, solid pacing, cute moments, mixed with romance that works well. While nothing super new it still solid of the story it is trying to tell. A 4 out of 5.
