Straightforward read although towards the end I wanted to know what should the alternative to be. What do we do about murderers and rapists? The author provides a brief anecdote but it's not a satisfactory answer. To be fair, the title of this book is "Are prisons obsolete?" and not "Are prisons obsolete and what should we implement instead?"
