Satan's Affair
by H.D. Carlton
NO SPOILER REVIEW <3
Soooo, I didn't review this book when I first read it last year in October (2023) The main reason being that I didn't know how to. I have so many mixed reviews and thoughts about this book and I have gone back and forth on my rating as well. As of me reviewing it right now (January 2024) I am finalizing my rating at a 4/5, rounded up.
Let me start off by saying that I absolutely ADORE Sibby's character. She is so lovable and even though she is technically far from it, there is this innocents about her that makes her tug at your hearts strings while you're also scared for your life lol
I think that I went into this book with so many expectations because I read it after I read Haunting and Hunting Adeline. I know that its recommended to read it first, but I feel like for me reading it after was best. If you haven't read any of them yet though I would recommend reading Haunting Adeline and once you get to the part where they talk about actually being at Satan's Affair, then go in and read this book and then finish out Haunting and then go straight into Hunting.
Now for the actual review. I think it just fell short for me. I feel like it was a lot more smut based than what I was expecting. I thought that I was going to get way more on who Sibby is/was as a person and while you do get that, I definitely wanted more. Overall it was an amazing book, it just didn't give the same momentum and writing flow that I've come accustomed to while reading H.D Carlton book. With all of that being said, I still recommend reading this book with the duet and especially if you plan on reading Sibbys next book that is currently being written!
