Chasing a Croatian Girl: A Survivor's Tale by Cody McClain Brown

2.75

Good quick way to learn about Croatian culture and norms, but I didn't like the writing style (very casual in a "okay, next let me tell you about this _____, now can you BELIEVE that??") and it felt like it was filled with stereotypes - definitely about Americans (based primarily on his experience growing up in Oklahoma), and likely about Croatians too. I'm guessing some of the differences in culture he described, too, were more about comparing his experience as a child and young adult in the US to his experience as a more mature adult in Croatia - not exactly comparable. (Like saying the drinking culture was vastly different by comparing red solo cup parties with beer pong (US) to having a casual drink in a cafe in Croatia. )
