I enjoyed this book, but didn’t love it the way I see so many other others loving it.

And I think part of that comes from my hesitancy to humanize artificial intelligence. At the same time, there are organic parts to Murderbot. So you can read this story as Murderbot freeing itself from its mechanical, technological prison.

Reclaiming its humanity.

I loved the tone of the book and Murderbot’s overall viewpoint, however. This book feels like sci-fi that’s accessible to non-sci-fi readers. I read the only first book all systems red. It will be some time before I come back to the second book. But I will come back.
