More Than You'll Ever Know by Katie Gutierrez

4.0

This is a story inside a story. True crime author Cassie Bowman is seeking stories for her blog when she comes across an article about Lore Rivera. The gist of the article is simple, Lore was married to two men at the same time, and one man killed the other.

Cassie is stunned. A female bigamist? A murder? What a great story! Absolutely fascinated, Cassie needs to know more and more and more. So she goes on a quest to find Lore and learn what actually happened.

Told in alternating chapters that take us from past to present we eventually learn the whole story at the same time that Cassie does. The author takes us on a wild journey with red herring galore that ultimately climaxes with a twist that I didn't see coming. The book could have used some judicious editing, it was a little long, and repetitive. However, the underlying story was beautifully told and the author did a great job with characterizations because all of the characters were beautifully human.
