Barefoot at Sunset by Roxanne St. Claire

4.0

Mark Solomon met his soul mate in high school. They married and had 14 years together before she died. Mark sold their business and has traveled doing adventure seeking pursuits. He's back in Barefoot Bay a week before his class reunion because he's on the planning committee (one of only three guys). He knows there will be comments about Julia and that the single women will be after him. He meets Emma DeWitt on the doorstep of his villa crying. He invites her in and finds she was supposed to stay on her honeymoon in this villa but her fiance broke it off two weeks before the wedding. Mark proposes that Emma pretend to be his fiance so he won't have to talk about Julia or be hit on. Emma can stay with him in the villa. She agrees. They are very compatible and attracted to each other. Mark tries to help Emma address her fears and she does that same for him. It turns out to be a lovely story about the power of love. I'm anxious for the next installment.
