Funny Feelings by Tarah DeWitt

medium-paced

4.25

This is why I need to write my reviews immediately after reading them because I finished this YESTERDAY and cannot think of a comprehensive review..

All in all, it was a really cute book! Farely is a comedian and has been in love with her manager, Meyer, for years but he has no idea. Meyer is a single dad with a deaf daughter who deeply cares for Farely ever since they met under funny circumstances. In order to advance Farely's career and obtain more media coverage, the two need to fake date.

I feel like I wanted a bit more from the book as a whole, but I'm not sure what is missing.. Maybe more tension!?? I did love the grumpy-sunshine + friends to lovers aspect, but I think I will always be an enemies to lovers girl at the end of the day. We also got a small splash of workplace romance/coworkers/forbidden love in a way?

Despite missing some tension, I LOVED the characters and honestly felt like I was a mix of both. Meyer hates public attention and being on stage (ME), and Farely lives by her google calendar and lays out every aspect of her life (ME).

Tropes
- Single dad romance
- Friends to lovers
- Fake-dating
- Workplace romance (in a way)
- Grumpy-sunshine
- "Who did this to you" in a different font
