The Heir
by Claudia Klein
I received a digital copy of the book by the author herself which in no way will affect the honesty of my review.
It’s a 3.5 ⭐️ read for me.
The story was quite nice in my opinion. We follow medieval kingdoms going to war, we have a slight romance subplot and explore different allegiances between the characters.
It’s definitely a slow-paced book, which is something I’m not a huge fan of. The other thing I didn’t quite like is that it’s in 3rd person. I find myself reading books in 3rd person way slower and this book is no exception. I was also quite confused by the frequent jumps between POVs. Also, this book is YA fantasy, it’s written simply and it’s easy to understand which I liked.
The story was engaging and I feel like this book will appeal to both younger people as well as someone in their early twenties.
