I really enjoyed the concept of this book, the history behind Alessa having to step up and protect the island was really detailed and set up the story perfectly. It was really well written and I was engaged throughout the whole book.

I to have to say that from maybe half way through until almost the end it started to drag a little with the Dante story and also her becoming besties with the Fontes, however it made the end more impactful. It was a really nice ending that she needed all of their help to protect the island and that Dante’s power was actually the most effective all along, so take that everyone who decided he needed to be put in prison! Ivini was so insufferable, he needed a punch in the face and a kick in the shins. He better not be in the next book.
