A darker shade of magic is a slow burn and really took me about 40% of the book before I was interested. The last 20% of the book was the best. I’m really curious about Delilah and her story! I do feel like the book has a good premise and it left me wanting to learn more about the other characters but the amount of time it took me to become invested in the book is why I gave it a 3.5.
