Buck Wild by Lauren Landish
3.0
3 stars. Borrowed via KU.
This was just OK. James & Sophie meet while she’s interning with a local vet. James is home on the ranch for the Summer. They decide to have a Summer fling knowing they each have plans elsewhere in the Fall ~ James returning to Rodeo and Sophie to Vet school.
This becomes a slow burn romance with lots of sex. I think that’s where the problem lies. Most of the MC’s conversations revolve around sex and I didn’t feel a lot of real connection between them for the first 75% of the book.
Frankly, I think this might have been a DNF for me if it hadn’t been for the narrators. Aiden Snow is, as always, solid. Melissa Moran was new to me, but her sweet voice felt perfect for Sophie ~ giving her youth but not immaturity.
The end did come around and make it overall enjoyable and I am actually looking forward to Mark’s story. (Luke’s hasn’t released yet as of this writing)
I’m glad I didn’t spend a credit on this because it isn’t the quality of story that would have me listening more than once.
