A Man with Faults by Lory Lilian

4.0

Oh, what a nice variation of Pride&Prejudice!!

I'm not sure whether I would give 5*, but it def. deserves 4.

For me, it was just a tid bit too much. Both of our MCs have faults and I can't even begin to describe them :D
Both are stubborn and don't really talk about their feelings - with noone. For quite some time ;-)
Darcy is conceited and pretty judgmental in the beginning but he knows that. I didn't necessarily love that he just wouldn't apologize to Lizzy and converse with her normally for such a long time.
Same goes for Lizzy. She had her own preconceived notions and yet, fails to discuss them with Darcy. But that's what happens in the Jane Austen novel as well, so I can't really blame them.

Plot?
Well, I simply loved the whole Bingley story. Would have loved to see him broken-hearted, though. There is some talk about it, yes, but we don't really get to see him that way. I also adored that he confronted Darcy but he's still a loyal friend who has it in him to forgive his Bf. What a bromance.

I also adored that Miss Darcy has so much screentime, so to say. She's basically your third MC and that's awesome.

And their aunt was just amazing! Without her interference at times, everything would have probably lasted much longer. I adored her, especially whens he talked to Bingley about his sisters. Thanks for clearing that one up!

There is not a lot drama in there, especially as we have probably all read Jane Austen and therefore know how it will end and what will happen in the middle etc. Nevertheless, I liked the changes and the elaborations.

All in all, I can only recommend. Also because of the writing style. Pretty genius. And very nice to read. There were some repetitions that annoyed me a bit (like that of the words amiable and voluble) but hey :D
