Write Smart, Write Happy: How to Become a More Productive, Resilient and Successful Writer by Cheryl St John

3.0

Reading this book was like getting slapped in the face repeatedly by a soft teddy bear. (It’s late, so my metaphors are a little odd, I apologize.) I felt like I was in a bootcamp being called out, but in a NICE way. This book did encourage me to dive back into writing, but has also terrified me of actually traditionally publishing. It contained a little too much info as well as repeated and inconsistent tips. The main tip of this book: write every day, but not every day if you can’t every day, and make time for writing while maintaining a positive outlook and OH—being an author is a tricky business not made for everyone. I enjoyed it, but it could have been trimmed down and a bit nicer to newbies writing their first book!
