Fables, Vol. 9: Sons of Empire by Bill Willingham

4.0

Clever and enjoyable as ever. This edition focused on father-son relationships and the contrast was striking, from Pinocchio and Geppetto (boo! hiss!) to Bigby and Mr North and, interestingly, little Ambrose (who is definitely my favourite of the brood - so cute!) and Bigby. Sons of Empire also seems to set the scene for impending disaster, and I suspect we'll see some major causalities in coming instalments.
