Atmosphere
by Taylor Jenkins Reid
This book was just comforting. Joan is a likeable and comforting character and Taylor Jenkins Reid’s writing is so cozy.
I like Joan as a character and person, she’s intelligent, ambitious and unapologetically herself. Vanessa brings out another side to her - love- and that’s there’s way more to life than career.
It has me intrigued about the stars, space and NASA. Now I want to invest in a telescope and identify all the stars Joan has studied.
The dual timeline keeps you engaged and makes it a page turner.
I just wish the chapters were slightly longer and that the book had an epilogue. However, it might be a possibility that Taylor wants us to conclude how Lydia and Vanessa’s story ends given the last sentence saying “Maybe they had not asked for too much. Maybe they would get everything they wanted”.
