DNF @ 44%.
What the fuck. That is all.
Of course that’s not all. I’m gonna tell you my issues with this book.
Firstly; I was caught off guard by the MMF aspect, I was mistakenly under the impression that it was an MF romance. But that’s cool, I can get behind it. Even the taboo nature of the relationship, I’m cool with. But it took me by surprise.
Secondly; a cult. Really? A cult. That was the way the author chose to take this? And it was a cliche version, focused purely on vulgar acts and some corrupt sense of justice? Idk I’m all for reading about cults but this one wasn’t for me.
Thirdly (and lastly); I did spoil it for myself when I reached 44% and read other reviews, cause I wasn’t vibing with the way the FMC made herself the victim. And what do you know? I stopped just in time cause apparently the rest of the book is her making herself the victim. Is it considered infantilising a victim of abuse? I don’t know, certain aspects felt that way. But I haven’t read the whole thing so I can’t speak to the full book.
