Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare

5.0

Queen of Air and Darkness was nothing like I thought it would be. I am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed it and I loved the conclusion that Cassie brought us to. I am happy with the ending and also intrigued for the Wicked Powers.

As always, I am just astounded with the character development this book. I loved how Julian’s emotions were turned off— I think this really helped to flesh out his character arc. I also loved how EMMA was the one who was going to destroy all parabatai bonds. And I wanted her to! Thank goodness Julian stopped her. I think that was one of the most poignant parts of this series, when Julian kept her from her own darkness, just like Emma has done for him in the past.

I’m just so relieved Emma and Julian worked out. When they turned in to giants I thought it was bizarre but honestly I’m kind of here for it. I liked how it wasn’t cut and dry,

I also really liked Jace and Clary and Magnus and Alec and all of the OG characters. In the first book they felt very flat to me but this book they really added to the story and it was fun to read more of their story.

The threesome between Kieran, Cristina and Mark was regrettably not my fave
