Red at the Bone by Jacqueline Woodson

I'm disappointed to say I found this really slow and hard to get into.

I've wanted to read [a:Jacqueline Woodson|74640|Jacqueline Woodson|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1327352477p2/74640.jpg]'s adult books for a long time, as I love a lot of her children's picture books. I hate to say I was disappointed with the flow of [b:Red at the Bone|43697186|Red at the Bone|Jacqueline Woodson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1555530960l/43697186._SY75_.jpg|67992446].

It was about everyone's relationship with Iris but not really. It was pretty hard to follow, and there was a lot of jumping that didn't seem to fit with anything.

I am both surprised and not surprised that this took me the better part of two weeks to finish. It was very easy to put down and forget about, and then not feel the need to come back to.

I got this book for free at an exchange at one of my book clubs, and it's probably the book I've read the soonest after acquiring, and the book that will have stayed on my physical TBR for the shortest amount of time. It's definitely one I'm ready to read and weed.
