Bring Me Back
by B.A. Paris
To begin, I think the cover is top notch. It’s even cooler in person because it’s textured. Now let’s get into the actual book. Started off strong. First chapter— it grabs you. As we get father in we see how our main man, Finn, handled the disappearance of his girlfriend. We learn he has some serious anger issues and blacked out from anger the night his girlfriend, Layla, disappeared. The story takes place 12 years after Layla disappeared. Clues that Layla is still alive begin to pop up everywhere. It’s very obvious she is not dead. The book goes on for some time about these clues. While reading I had a revelations of where Layla could have been. I was hoping that would be the ending. Sadly it wasn’t. The ending was... not that. It’s revealed that Layla is actually his new fiancée who was claiming to be her sister. My biggest issue with this is that it said multiple times in the book that Layla looked nothing like his new fiancée. You will still look similar if you’ve aged 12 years and lost 50 pounds. Loosing weight will not make you look completely unrecognizable. The book was 4 stars until the ending. It didn’t make sense with what was said earlier in the book. I was impressed with this book until the end.
